Bluffton, SC (July 12, 2014) Garrett Rank is the Players Amateur Presented by Nautica third round leader. The Team Canada Golfer is going into the final round with a 6 stroke lead.
The 26 year-old, from Elmira, Ontario, shot 2-under par on Saturday to bring his three day total to 13-under par. After his round he told reporters that he is headed into Sunday’s round with the same mindset he has had all week, “I am just going to stay really patient, stick to my game plan and not really worry what everyone else is doing.”
Four other contestants are sharing the second place position at 6 strokes back. Jack Maguire had a stand out day, carding an 8-under par, putting him at 7-under for the tournament. The rising sophomore at Florida State University enjoyed a bogie free round. Defending champion Hunter Stewart, Oklahoma State’s Zachary Olsen and Virginia Tech’s Scott Vincent also finished the day at 7-under par.
Tee times were scheduled to begin at 7:15 am but thunder storms in the area forced officials to push back tee times 1 hour and 15 minutes.
