THREE AREA GROUPS RECEIVE FUNDING THANKS TO THE TWO CLUB

BLUFFTON, SC — The Heritage Classic Foundation announced today that funds raised during the 2016 Players Amateur were distributed to three South Carolina nonprofits.

The donations were made possible by supporters of the 2016 amateur event held in July at the Berkeley Hall Golf Club. Two Club members pledged $2.00 for every hole score of two made by the amateur players during their competitive rounds of the 2016 Players Amateur event.

Contestants made a total of 120 twos during the four-day competition.  The 41 club members, made of primarily Berkeley Hall residents, raised over $7,800.00.  Since its inception in 2012, the Two Club has donated $59,800 to local charities.

Donations were made to the following nonprofits: Berkeley Hall Charitable Foundation, South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation and Heritage Classic Foundation

The Players Amateur is known as one of the premier amateur golf events in the world. Each year, the winner earns a sponsors exemption into the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event.  The 49th annual RBC Heritage is being held at Harbour Town Golf Links April 10-16, 2017. Tickets are now on sale at www.rbcheritage.com.

Many Players Amateur participants have been successful at making the transition to the pro circuit.  Ben Curtis, Rickie Fowler, Lucas Glover, Bill Haas, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar and Camilo Villegas are just a few that are well known on the PGA TOUR.
