CORBIN MILLS WINS!

After struggling on the front nine, Corbin Mills came from behind today to shoot 4 birdies on the back nine for a final round 72. HIs 12-under four day total was enough to win the 12th annual Players Amateur. He inched out LSU’s Curtis Thompson and Patrick Rodgers from Avon, Indiana who both scored 11-under. Thompson shot a final day 66 and Rodgers carded a 67. It was the second win in as many weeks for Mills, a rising junior at Clemson University. Last week he won the US Amateur Public Links and earned an exemption into The Masters. Today’s win at the Belfair Golf Club earns him a spot in the 2012 RBC Heritage. The Easley, SC resident is the first Clemson golfer to win the Players Amateur.
